The Club’s Vision: Inspiring generations, focuses on continuing to develop as a strong community club as well as becoming a beacon of rugby excellence and high performance within the province. The Club’s Strategy aims to focus on Growth, Retention and Achievement with an emphasis on enhancing player skills and high performance at U16 upwards.
Sligo Rugby Club is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Ireland, having been founded in 1890. The club had the honour in 1896, of playing in the first Connacht Senior Cup game ever held in the province, when their opponents were University College Galway. We are at the heart of Sligo’s communities.
Whether you are currently a player, supporter, or parent, your contribution as a volunteer will be invaluable. Volunteers are the cornerstone of Sligo Rugby, playing the critical role in our club’s success. We invite you to join our team of committed volunteers and participate in the rewarding experience that is Sligo Rugby.
For only the second time in the long history of club, Sligo Rugby are Connacht Senior League Champions, following a perfect 4 bonus point wins league campaign which was completed with an excellently crafted victory over Buccaneers at Hamilton Park.
